The Canon Pixma MP810 is an all-in-one photo printer designed for photographers or photo enthusiasts who want to not only print excellent quality photos, but have the capability to scan and copy as well. The unit is extremely compact and is designed to be very easy to use, catering to buyers who would rather get the job done than spend a lot of time learning how to use the machine.

Not only can the scanner scan traditional documents and full-color photos, it even has the capability to scan 35mm film directly. This should be a welcome feature for those with a lot of film that needs to be archived. The benefit of this feature is that it also removes one layer of degradation to the photos, preserving the original quality is much as possible. The machine also support a variety of memory card formats and users can connect a DV camcorder or digital camera directly to the machine via its PictBridge-enable USB port, making it easy to print photos without the need for a computer.

Print speed is very fast, at up to 31 pages per minute for black and 24 pages per minute for color. Photo speeds will be a little slower, but a 4×6 borderless photo can print in as little as 21 seconds. This is certainly impressive for such an inexpensive model. It also prints other standard photo sizes, such as 5×7 and 8×10.

Print resolution far exceeds the norm at up to 2400 dpi for photo printing. Monochrome documents are limited to 600 dpi, however. The included software supports modern versions of Windows and Mac OS X. Mac users will be glad to know that Canon has a history of providing great software for both platforms, unlike some manufacturers who offer limited features on the Mac platform.

Buyers with a focus on photo printing will love the Canon Pixma MP810’s excellent feature set and design, which makes it easy to get files in and produce great finished photos.

Printers have improved dramatically through the years, offering more and more features in increasingly smaller sizes. However, many users would like the ability to do simple photo printing without the unnecessary hassle of using a computer. The Canon Selphy ES3 answers the call. It is a compact photo printer that offers quick and easy photo printing directly from a memory card, directly from a digital camera, or even via Bluetooth for the ultimate in ease-of-use.

The machine has a full-color 3.5” screen for previewing photos, and users can even do a certain amount of editing, such as red-eye reduction. It is possible to create small calendars, add frames to photos, and do other simple creative projects that make great gifts.

Print speed is around 55 seconds for a 4” x 6” photo. Up to 999 images can be stored in the machine with its built-in memory. The device is designed for simplicity and ease-of-use from start to finish. Even the most novice of users should have no problem quickly and easily creating excellent photo projects.

Design-wise, the Selphy ES3 has more in common with a trendy boombox than a photo printer, as it features a convenient handle on top for portability and an eye-catching rounded design that gives it a very modern look. The unit measures only 8.9 inches by 8.9 inches by 5.4 inches, so it can be easily placed virtually anywhere for easy storage and use.

With only two cartridges to replace, even buying Canon Selphy ES3 ink cartridges is a simple task. As the cartridges have a capacity of only 25 photos, expect to replace them often. Still, the cost per page is not particularly high, especially when considering the machine’s low upfront price.

For buyers who want the ability to make their own photo prints, but don’t want to have to use a computer for the task, the Canon Selphy ES3 could be just the model they are looking for. Its low price and easy operation will appeal to a wide range of users.

One look at the Canon PIXMA iP100 color inkjet printer, and you might mistake it for a chunky netbook or some other device. Its ultra-compact frame and sleek silver design makes it nearly unrecognizable as a photo printer. Make no mistake, however, that this is an excellent machine designed for the ultimate portability.

Measuring only 2.4 inches by 12.7 inches by 7.2 inches, the PIXMA iP100 inkjet is small even by portable standards. It can easily fit into a medium-sized laptop bag or carry-on, making it ideal for travel. Despite its small size, it is capable of printing in all major photo sizes, up to 8×10 prints. Most users will probably print mainly borderless 4×6 prints, however.

With such a tiny machine, you might think that Canon sacrificed speed, but you would be wrong. It can print at up to 20 pages per minute for black and 14 pages per minute for color, making it faster than many desktop models. Setup is very simple. Just insert the driver disc, follow the onscreen prompts and connect the cable, and you are ready to go.

All of these benefits would be for nothing if printer ink was too expensive, and luckily Canon iP100 ink cartridges are very affordable. Since PIXMA iP100 ink cartridges are also easy to find, users don’t have to worry about finding replacement printer ink when traveling.

Users who reviewed the Canon PIXMA iP100 inkjet give it very high ratings. They mention its ease of use and its excellent portability. The main criticism against the unit is the lack of a USB cable in the box.

Travelers, photographers and others who need to print on the go will find a lot to like about the Canon PIXMA iP100. It is a compact and reliable machine that can follow you virtually anywhere and doesn’t sacrifice printing speed. With a low upfront price and affordable PIXMA iP100 ink, it is a great value.

The Canon imageRUNNER C5180 is a multifunction color laser corporate work group printer complete with finishing options and great standard specifications; the C5180 sells for around $13,000.00.

The C5180 is powered by Canon’s imageCHIP system which allows for simultaneous printing, scanning, faxing and copying. A dual processor with standard 1 GB memory enables the printing of complex documents and is paired with network capabilities via 10/100BaseTX and USB connection which is typical of corporate printers. An 80 GB hard drive is standard as well as duplex printing while maximum paper capacity is at 5,000 sheets. A wealth of finishing options are available from Canon such as stapler/stackers, saddle stitching, mailboxes, and additional media trays. A super G3 multiline fax board may also be installed for further expansion making the Canon imageRUNNER C5180 exceed its competition. Scanning has a resolution of 600 by 600 dpi while 100 user inboxes and 50 secure mailboxes are included in the standard configuration.

Print color documents at close to 50 pages per minute and monochrome documents just as fast, although warm up time is a bit slow at 4 minutes after powering on. Toner cartridges are rated for 27,000 pages at 5% coverage and color prints cost around $.15 per page with monochrome prints at $.04; it should be noted that these are estimated results and depends upon the complexity of the document. Scan and copy at 70 impressions per minute using the 100 sheet auto duplexing unit; an additional EFI controller allows for simple use of a color intensive multi-user environment, although it will cost extra and drive up the price. Access your printer form anywhere via the wed access software which enables the secure sending of documents from anywhere on the web. The C5180 prints color and text documents equally well as it should for its price; no noticeable flaws were detected until extremely small stylized fonts were printed.

The Canon imageRUNNER C5180 delivers a wide variety of options and expandability to the corporate user; the printer is on the expensive side especially when the finishing options are used.

The Canon ImageRUNNER C2880 color laser printer is a multifunction large work group laser printer equipped to serve and is priced around $3,200.00.

This work horse has a 1 GHz processor and 1 GB, 1.5 GB max, of memory standard on all models in the series which provides ample room for large print jobs and complex documents. Networking is standard, as it is for models in this class and an 80 GB hard drive is also included for secure printing and storing Fax numbers. A 4,950 sheet capacity allows any office or work group to work through large required print jobs and more finishing options than its competitors like internal staplers, saddle stitch finishers and hole punchers help in professional styled document printing. The Canon ImageRUNNER C2880 has a super G3 fax board standard on the “i” models for fast faxing. An end user can also send and receive documents at 44 impressions a minute which is common with similarly priced printers.

Color documents are produced in great clarity, better than some of its competitors, while text documents are crisp down to 4 point font sizes although some feathering occurs with highly stylized fonts. The Canon C2880 prints and copies at 27 pages per minute in black and white and 22 pages per minute in full color; the higher the resolution the slower the device prints. Canon’s imageCHIP system provides constant calibrations to color and monochrome documents to ensure consistent prints increasing the quality of images in color or black and white. Cost per printed page is low for black and white prints at about 1 cent per copy/print and color prints at 40% coverage average $.16 per print. Adding to these features the Canon C2880 comes equipped with software interfaces for Windows and Mac platforms to alert users to issues with print jobs or to send documents from the printer hard drive to any user on the network.

The Canon ImageRUNNER C2880 is a large work group printer with great color production and huge memory but falls a little short for text printing while it excels at faxing and copying.
