Want compatibility, affordability and reliability in one small machine? What about a printer that can work as a network printer, connecting everyone in your office to one machine? If you’re looking for any of this, you’re going to want to check out the Dell 2330dn. Offering fast speeds and a monthly duty cycle of up to 50,000 pages, it will be hard to find a more compatible unit for your mid to high capacity office. It also supports Windows, Linux, Solaris, Novell, Citrix and UNIX operating systems, making it as versatile as the offices that use it—you won’t find many printers compatible with this many systems.

The Dell 2330dn has fast speeds of up to 35 pages per minute, and each page will print with high resolutions of up to 1200×1200 dpi, meaning your documents will print with sharp and professional precision. Its first page out time is only 7.5 seconds too, which proves you won’t find yourself waiting by the printer when work needs to be done. The “d” in its name stands for its duplex printing features, while the “n” stands for its ability to network.

Compact, the Dell 2330dn measures at only 16.8×14.6×10.1 inches, which will make it easy to find a spot for. Compared to other machines, it’s also pretty lightweight, weighing only 31.1 pounds. It also supports media types like cards, transparencies, bond paper, labels, envelopes and plain paper.

Consumer reviews for the Dell 2330dn are, for the most part, quite positive. Users love its compact size and affordable upfront price. The inexpensive price of toner cartridges are among its most praised feature, as well as its quick warm-up time. Its fast printing speeds are also applauded, and users find that the quality of printed documents is far higher than with competing units. When it comes to the Dell 2330dn, complaints are hard to find.

Compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, the Dell V313w all-in-one wireless printer can fit the needs of any home nicely. Weighing only 14.5 pounds, it is easy to move. It also has a decent size of only 18.8×13.3×7 inches that will make finding a place for the machine no hassle at all.

Using black Dell V313w ink, up to 33 pages can be printed per minute. With the help of the color ink, 30 pages per minute are possible. These speeds will definitely keep up with the needs of most home users. The unit itself also has a 3,000 sheet monthly duty cycle that most home users won’t even think about surpassing.

Most standard paper sizes and types are supported by the Dell V313w. Transparencies, plain paper, labels, envelopes, iron-on transfers, banners, photo paper, glossy paper and heavy weight matte paper all work great with this device, and sizes like letter, legal, statement, executive and index cards are all supported as well by this highly versatile unit.

User reviews for the Delll V313w are surprisingly similar to each other, though. Most find the inkjet unit to have impressive speeds and quality; however, one thing keeps the V313w from being a great device—and that is the high cost of Dell V313w ink. Most say that the excellent scanning, printing and copying features can’t make up for the loss of money these high consuming ink tanks create.

One thing that many may not know, though, is that any printer can be affordable if remanufactured versions of the ink are used instead of OEM versions from manufacturers. Remanufactured versions tend to cost only a fraction of the OEM price, while offering the same high quality and resolutions. Meaning if you want high quality and resolutions for a decent price, the Dell C313 is still an option for you.

Very rarely, do we see printers that have a feature that is unusual. Most all-in-one printers can scan, copy, fax and print, but the Dell V515w Red has an extra feature that most printers don’t—the ability to save lives. Though you are probably wondering what exactly that means, we will get into that a little later. For now, let’s look at the standard features first.

This compact device, first and foremost, is very attractive with its shiny, black frame and unique design. Compatible with Windows and Linux, the V515 Red doesn’t offer any functions for Mac users, but what it does offer is wireless printing. It has a weight of 17.5 pounds, which for four units in one, is quite light weight. It also has a respectable size of only 19.2×13.4×8.0 inches that won’t take up too much room. Perfect for small or home offices, this unit will make users happy with its versatility—it can print on transparencies, plain paper, envelopes, labels, cards,/heavy-weight matte paper and glossy paper, among others.

This inkjet unit uses only two Dell V515w Red ink cartridges. Using black printer ink about 33 pages per minute can be printed, and with color Dell V515w red ink, 30 pages per minute can be printed. The copier with black and color printer ink can produce 25 copies per minute and 21 copies per minute, respectively. These speeds are quite fast, and the resolutions created by the Dell V515w Red ink are impressive as well.

The most impressive feature, however, lies in its Red title, as mentioned before. Though looking at this unit, it may just seem like it has red accents all over it, it is more than just a stylistic choice. When the Dell V515w Red is purchased, a portion of the money spent goes directly to The Global Fund, which works to eliminate AIDS in Africa—these Red accents work as a reminder that your simple donation helped save lives. Users and experts agree that this inkjet unit is a step above the rest.

The Dell 2130cn is a color laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. It offers fast speeds and good print quality, but toner costs are higher than many competing models.

While the Dell 2130cn does get points for its flat black design, rather than the usual beige, its bulky black frame looks a little imposing, especially in the small office setting for which it is designed. It measures 16.3 inches by 15.7 inches by 16 inches, and weighs 41 pounds. Paper capacity is good, holding 250 sheets in its single drawer. The paper capacity can be expanded to a total of 500 sheets by adding a 250-sheet optional drawer. Its output paper tray only holds 150 sheets, however.

The printer can handle the processing of fairly large documents with its 400 MHz processor and 256 MB of memory. The memory can also be expanded to a maximum of 1,280 MB. The printer has a built-in ethernet port for connecting directly to a network and sharing it across multiple users. It also has an embedded web server that allows users to access features, settings, and manage print jobs remotely.

Dell 2130cn toner cartridges are divided into cyan, magenta, yellow, and black configuration. Each Dell 2130cn toner cartridge has a capacity of 2,500 pages, for both black and color cartridges. Toner prices tend to be higher than most competing units, but using third-party compatible cartridges instead of OEM Dell 2130cn toner cartridges can help reduce the cost and make it a more economical printer.

Print speed is quite good, at 16 pages per minute for color and 20 pages per minute for monochrome. Text is sharp, and photo and graphics quality is quite good for the price.

Overall, the Dell 2130cn has a lot to offer for the small office. Its fast speeds and great quality are impressive, but higher-than-average toner costs might drive away some buyers.

The cost-per-page rates of the standard Dell 5100cn toner cartridges are an estimated 2.7 cents per monochrome print, and 12.6 cents for full-color graphics. Standard Dell Color Laser Printer 5100 toner cartridges yield up to 9,000 pages for black cartridges, and up to 8,000 pages for each color cartridges, with high-capacity cartridges also available. New cartridges are supplied with the printer, and are pre-installed into the device, for user convenience. Additional consumables also require replacement besides Dell 5100cn toner cartridges, including the fuser assembly(valid for up to 100,000 pages), and imaging drum (valid for up to 126,000 pages).

Refilling Dell 5100cn toner cartridges with new ink, is a highly productive way of reducing the cost of consumables. Refilling expired cartridges saves up to 70% on the printing costs, and eliminates unnecessary waste, often sent to landfills after use. Dell Color Laser Printer 5100 toner cartridges are compatible with various refill-kit brands, and permits users to personally choose their own ink. Most refill kits are inexpensive, user-friendly, and have high page-yield capabilities. Refill ink is high- quality, and each cartridge may be filled routinely over time. Refill toner for Dell Color Laser Printer 5100 toner cartridges also reduces cost-per-page rates, and can potentially improve image quality.

Users are always strongly suggested to find a safe, and free, alternative to disposing of expired Dell 5100cn toner cartridges. Recycling expired toner cartridges is an active way of contributing to a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Dell Color Laser Printer 5100 toner refill kits are inexpensive and user-friendly, and refill ink is also high in quality. Refill toner for Dell 5100cn toner cartridges can increase the standard cartridge’s page-yield capabilities, resulting in an impressive cost-per-page rate.

The Dell 1320c Laser Printer is a color laser printer designed for the personal or small office user. It is very affordably-price and offers good print quality and speed, but for a little more money, competing products are significantly better.

Although the 1320c is relatively compact, its square black design seems a little imposing. It feels bigger than it actually is, despite measuring only 14.8 inches by 15.6 inches by 16.6 inches (HWD) and weighing only 40 pounds. It is a bit too big to share a desk with, so personal users will need to ensure they have the space for it. Small offices will find it compact, and it will fit in most tight spaces when necessary. The control panel is straightforward and simple, with only a continue button and a cancel button. No screen is included, but a series of lights give the user information about problems and errors. This is an adequate system, but it may prove difficult in a busy office environment as the cryptic lights will require the manual to decipher, which may not be readily available in some offices.

Toner cartridges are easily accessed and replaced from the front panel. The capacities for the Dell 1320c seem a bit small, even for a personal laser. Standard cartridges have a capacity of 1,000 pages, while high-yield cartridges have a capacity of 2,000 pages. The printer’s monthly duty cycle is 35,000 pages, which means a user would have gone through over 17 cartridges in one month to reach that amount. This seems a little unbalanced.

Print speed is decent, at around 12 pages per minute black and 8 pages per minute for color. Print quality is good, with text quality as the highlight. Color print quality is alright for interoffice printing, but not high-quality enough to give to a client.

Overall, the Dell 1320c is a good printer at a very affordable price. For a little more money, however, buyers can get a much better printer from competing manufacturers.

The Dell 1125 is a monochrome laser printer with multifunction capabilities, designed for the small or home office user. While very affordable, and sporting a solid feature set, it is marred by some cost-cutting measures and design missteps.

The multifunction features of the 1125 include printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. In fact, copying, faxing, and scanning can all be done without a connection to a PC, making it a true replacement for separate devices. Although the printing mechanism is monochrome, scanning and faxing can be done in color. The scanning mechanism support 24-bit color scans at resolutions up to 600 dpi resolutions.

The design of the Dell 1125 is somewhat awkward. The unit is not particularly bulky or heavy, especially for a multifunction device, but the paper tray sticks out from the bottom front of the unit in a very strange way and increases the footprint of the device considerably. The LCD panel is also difficult to read at some angles, and precludes users from placing the printer to high for fear of making the LCD unreadable.

Print speed is fairly good at around 14 pages per minute. Text printing quality is quite good, though extremely small fonts tend to lose detail and readability. Graphics printing quality is fairly poor, but this is typical for a multifunction laser printer.

While the main draw for the 1125 might be its affordable price, Dell only includes a “starter” toner cartridge with the unit, with a capacity of 1,000 pages. Higher-yield cartridges are available, with capacities of 2,000 pages each, but the starter cartridge will likely run out very quickly for most users, balancing out its affordable upfront cost with more toner costs in the long run. This is certainly a downside.

Overall, the Dell 1125 is a solid multifunction printer with some problems to overcome. Its features are impressive, and so is its price, but it is difficult to overlook its design flaws and cost-cutting shortcuts.

The Dell W5300 monochrome laser printer is compatible with multiple systems while it is priced accordingly; the printer sells for around $900.00.

Equipped with a 500 MHz processor and 80 MB of base memory, up to 336 MB total, the Dell W5300 provides ample power for maximum speed and resolution. Out of the box the printer has USB and 10/100 BaseTX Ethernet connections for a quick set up time and to increase its usefulness across different networks a Management Information Base allows for the use of other printer tracking software to be used with it; the W5300 comes with Dell’s OpenManage software if you do not already have one, this is a newer feature on this class of printers. Supporting Windows, UNIX and Linux systems keeps it competitive with other in class printers. Optional expansions include an auto duplexing unit, envelope feeder and 2 paper trays adding to the standard 500 sheet tray.

Black and white documents fly out of the device at 45 pages per minute due to the fast processor and the Dell W5300 supports a monthly duty cycle of 225,000 pages per month. High capacity toner cartridges are good for 18,000 pages at 5% coverage, or draft documents this will decrease the cost per printed page to around $.14 per page at the same coverage. Gray scale images are presented well enough for everyday use, but image intensive documents will need a little extra help. Text is presented fairly well down to 6 points and after that the letters seem a bit feathered. Be aware that italics and stylized fonts will be affected at these font sizes. A multipurpose feeder allows for oddly shaped or unusual media sizes to be accepted into the printer and a maximum of 176 g/m2 media weight is allowed.

The Dell W5300 is a great monochrome printer for the money with some work needed in the area of image printing; it will serve a document intensive department well considering its speed and networking capabilities.
