The HP Deskjet F4400 is an all-in-one unit with the ability to scan and copy, in addition to print. Able to print in color or black-and-white, the F4400 was clearly created for homes with less than 3,000 pages to print monthly. It offers quick print speeds, printing up to 28 pages per minute and 22 pages per minute in black-and-white and color, respectively. When printing on photo paper, it takes up to 26 seconds for each page to print. When printing in black-and-white, documents can be created with resolutions of 600 dpi. For color documents, you can hit resolutions as high as 4800×1200 dpi. Both color and monochrome documents will print with excellent quality and a professional finish.

It comes standard with an 80-sheet input tray and a 15-sheet output tray. There are a lot of media types supported, like plain paper, inkjet paper, photo paper, transparencies, envelopes, cards, labels, iron-on transfers and borderless media. It also comes with 16 MB of memory, but that cannot be expanded for those who need more memory.

Its scanner is a flatbed, and it has a color depth of 48-bits. The scanner can also reach resolutions as high as 1200 dpi. The copier is excellent, and it is able to copy up to 28 pages per minute. Resolutions as high as 600 dpi can be reached for black-and-white documents, while resolutions of 1200 dpi are possible for color documents. Reduction and enlargement are offered from 25%-200%, but only 9 copies can be made from each original document.

Connection is offered only via USB, and the model is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems only. Users love the machine overall, finding it to have a low price and inexpensive cost of upkeep. Many also comment about how easy it is to operate and setup.

The HP Deskjet D1600 was built for homes needing quality prints for an affordable price. With decent speeds of 20 pages per minute for black-and-white documents and 16 pages per minute for color documents, this machine will definitely keep up with the speeds you need in your home. It can also print a color photo in as little as 32 seconds. It can only print up to 750 pages each month, though, so if you exceed that, you will need to look elsewhere. It has a small footprint of 17.01×7.8×6.22 inches, which you can virtually place anywhere, and its weight of only 4.85 pounds makes it very lightweight and portable.

Only two Deskjet D1600 ink cartridges are needed with this unit—one black and one color. The color contains cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink. Using only the black, you can reach resolutions of 600 dpi, and using color, resolutions as high as 4800×1200 dpi. These resolutions are going to give you very high quality documents, and photos will look professional and true-to-life.

This printer is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, and it can connect via USB. Transparencies, envelopes, labels, cards, iron-on transfers, plain paper, inkjet paper and photo paper are all compatible.

Consumer reviews of the HP Deskjet D1600 are fairly mixed. Users find that setting it up and using it are simple, and the low upfront price is praised over and over again. Consumers also rave about the wonderful quality of documents printed. Where users tend to complain is when it comes to the HP D1600 ink cartridges. Though they are easy to find and create very high quality documents, they price tag on them is pretty pricey. Many have also complained about having way to many paper jams, and the machine doesn’t come with USB, which many find to be a major downfall. Overall, it has both positives and negatives.

Small and compact, the HP Photosmart A646 is portable and easy to move. Going on vacation and want to print your photos as they happen? This is a great way to make that possible. This tiny unit weighs only 2.37 pounds, meaning anyone can lift it. Its dimensions are small enough that it could easily be carried in a purse. Its size is only 9.92×4.61×5.28 inches. It even offers borderless printing up to 5×7 inches, and photos can print as fast as 18 seconds with a border. For anyone who needs photo prints on the go, the A646 is the best option.

Direct printing from memory cards is supported, as well as printing from phones, Bluetooth-enable devices, USB drives and PictBridge cameras. Magic Gate, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, xD-Picture Card and Secure Digital/MultimediaCard are all compatible with this easy to use unit.

A tricolor HP A646 ink cartridge is needed in order to use this inkjet unit. This one little tank of Photosmart A646 ink has the ability to print photos with high quality. The use of only one tank of printer ink will be convenient because it means only one tank needs to be replaced and maintained. The problem with this type of ink, though, is that if one color runs out, the entire tank needs to be replaced.

Consumer reviews of the HP A646 are very positive. Users find it to be easy to use and easy to install whether using Mac or Windows. The quality is good, according to users. The fact that it is portable and can print without being connected to a computer makes it stand above its competitors. Buyers found it to work a little slower than other inkjet printers, but due to its small size, fast speeds can’t really be expected. It even comes with a touch screen, a feature that man users like.

The HP Photosmart D5468 is an inkjet printer designed for the home or small office environment. It offers fast print speeds up to 33 pages per minute black and 31 pages per minute color. It also has a versatile feature set that will appeal to business-centric buyers. HP D5468 ink cartridges are very affordable, making it an economical choice.

The machine’s input paper capacity is a little limited in comparison to competing models, at only 125 sheets. It is a relatively compact device, managing to fit a lot of features into a machine with a very small footprint. Print quality is sharp, due to its 600 dpi printing engine. First page out time is on the slow side, at around 18 seconds for color. This means a little more waiting for the first page to begin printing, which may slow some busy users down.

Experienced buyers know that the cost of printer ink is the largest expense for any printer, but PhotoSmart D5468 ink is very affordably-priced, making it easy on the wallet. Furthermore, the large capacity of HP D5468 ink cartridges helps keep the cost per page very low, especially for an inkjet printer.

In their review of the HP D5468, PC World praised its low running costs and compact size. They also liked its sleek design and excellent features. They found its upfront price to be a little steep, however, and wished for multifunction features to be included. They found its photo printing quality to be excellent.

Overall, the HP PhotoSmart D5468 is a very capable printer with excellent photo quality and very fast printing speeds. Home and small office users should definitely give it a look. It upfront cost is high, but the affordable price of printer ink makes it a good choice for saving money in the long run.

The HP 94A toner cartridge, also known as the HP C4194A toner cartridge, is the yellow cartridge in the series of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Together they produce the full range of color for laser toner printers. This particular cartridge is compatible with the HP LaserJet 4500 and HP LaserJet 4550 models.

This yellow HP 94A cartridge is one in a series of four cartridges in the configuration known as CMYK. CMYK stands for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, where black was originally referred to as “key”, since it was the key or alignment of all other colors. Some printing standards have used CMY without black, as cyan, magenta, and yellow can be combined to create what is known as composite black. This is not a true black, however, and is a less appealing method. With laser printers, text is often a priority as well, so true black printing is a necessity.

When the four colors of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black are combined in different ratios they can create virtually the entire spectrum of color. This makes it a very useful configuration for printing.

The printers that use the HP 94A toner cartridge are capable of very high quality prints. The HP LaserJet 4500 and 4550 have a maximum resolution of 600 dpi for very sharp print quality, but they also incorporate HP’s Image REt technology which can simulate the image quality of 2400 dpi printing. This adds a level of detail and sharpness that is often unmatched by printers with higher printing resolutions.

While purchasing the HP 94A is the most expensive option, buyers can save money by choosing a remanufactured cartridge or a third-party compatible cartridge. Both of these options are safe and less expensive alternatives to paying full-price for an OEM cartridge, as long as they are purchased from a seller with a satisfaction guarantee and a solid warranty.

The HP CP2025 color laser printer has a lot to offer the small or medium office environment. Its excellent color quality and fast speeds will productivity up, and its excellent paper handling and expansion options are impressive as well.

For some offices, a color printer with the highest quality is not a necessity. Many look for a fast monochrome printer that can also do the occasional color print. For others, however, high-quality color printing is essential, and the HP CP2025 offers some of the best color printing quality in its price range. Reviews from around the web give a clearer picture of its quality. PCWorld liked its low price, and stated that it offers “plenty of good print quality.” Cnet was particularly impressed with its graphics quality, and said it “remains true to the quality we expect from a professional laser”.

Print speed is also a major factor when choosing a printer. HP rates the printer at speeds up to 21 pages per minute. While no reviewers found it to meet that speed, PCWorld rated it at 17.5 pages per minute, and Cnet found it to max out at 13.5 pages per minute. Its speed is still quite impressive compared to older models, such as the HP LaserJet 2600, which has speeds of only 8 pages per minute in color and monochrome.

The HP CP2025 toner cartridges included with the printer are a bit small, with capacities of 1,200 pages each, but high-yield laser toner cartridges are available, with capacities of 3,500 page for black and 2,800 pages for each color cartridge. Using third-party compatible cartridges will lower the cost per page even more resulting in a cost per page of around 1 cent for black and 6 cents per page for color. This is possible because of the higher capacities, especially compared to the cost of LaserJet 2600 toner, which has a significantly higher cost per page.

Paper handling is impressive. The unit has a 300-sheet paper capacity in its standard configuration, but can be expanded to a maximum of 550 sheets if more capacity is needed. Its monthly duty cycle of 40,000 pages gives it plenty of room to grow. Also, its initial 128 MB of RAM can be upgraded to a maximum of 384 MB for users who do a lot of graphics-intensive printing.

Overall, the HP Color LaserJet CP2025 offers some of the best color printing quality in its price range, and still manages to keep toner costs low. Its expandability will appeal to small offices expecting to grow in the future. Users who need high-quality color printing will be very happy, and users on a budget will appreciate its low cost per page.

The HP 4300 monochromatic laser printer is a desktop workgroup printer featuring fast print speeds and great support from Hewlett Packard; the unit is inexpensively priced around $300.00.

With processor speeds at 350 MHz and a maximum memory of 416 MB, base memory is at 64 MB, large and complex documents are no problem. RAM is upgradable as well as the option to add auto duplexing; the auto duplexing unit is a bit bulky and some additional room will be needed. The HP 4300 edges out the competition by supporting a wide variety of operating systems and platforms such as UNIX, Linux, IBM OS/2 Warp, Novell, Windows and Mac. Standard on the base models is a 600 sheet input capacity which can be expanded to a staggering 2600 sheets via additional paper trays. Media sizes supported are fairly standard and can handle up to 120g/m2 weight paper; the competition has similar specifications. No hard drive is available on this model but an array of paper feeders and different sized paper trays are.

Print at up to 45 pages per minute with this work horse of the printing industry. The printer has a monthly duty cycle of 200,000 pages which is higher than similarly priced models on the market and delivers 1200 by 1200 dpi resolutions. Unfortunately, parallel connections are standard and additional ports are standard on the higher end models like the HP 4300n and tn. These printers utilize HP’s UltraPrecise toner coupled with their ProRes 1200 and FastRes 1200 image enhancement software to improve image printing. Images are presented quite well and show only small signs of fading when closely examined. Text is produced exceptionally but the warm up time is longer than most printers in class. Printed pages will cost you around $.02 per page but will solely be dependent upon your coverage and complexity of printed documents.

All in all the HP 4300 is a fast and reliable printer for monochrome documents; however, you will need to pay extra for needed paper input and Ethernet capabilities.

Hewlett-Packard is a leader when it comes to providing the right product for the right application and the HP Color LaserJet 1500 is no exception to the high standards set by Hewlett-Packard. The HP 1500 LaserJet is perfect for the home office, dorm room, or small business office. It requires very little space (19 inches x 18 inches by 15 inches) and is packed with the productivity and features needed to support any small entity’s printing need and requirements.

The productivity of the Hewlett-Packard Color LaserJet 1500 allows for most, if not all, printing requirements of the home office or college dorm to be met. Output specifications of the HP 1500 printer are hard to match in these environments. First page out for monochrome is sixteen and a half seconds, while color first page output is twenty-four seconds. Pages per minute for black and white come in at 16 as full color pages are printed at the rate of four per minute. The engineered monthly duty cycle is a spectacular 30,000 maximum pages a month (making this a very stable printing platform). The tray capacity of 250 sheets, or 20 pounds, maximum allows for most small office printing jobs to be completed in a single loading. Add an optional second tray and the capacity climbs to 375 sheets. The print quality of the HP ColorJet 1500 is a crisp 600 dpi by 600 dpi (HP imageREt 2400). HP 1500 toner cartridges are available online in both OEM and compatible versions.

The minimum media size that can be handled by the Color Laser Jet 1500 is three inches by five inches where the maximum media size is eight and a half by fourteen inches. The types of media that can be printed on using the HP 1500 include plain, pre-punched, letterhead, preprinted forms as well as cardstock (index and postcards, transparencies, labels, and envelopes.

The economical price point backed by Hewlett-Packard’s outstanding reputation for quality, productivity and service makes the HP Color LaserJet 1500 a great choice for the home office, college dorm room, or small business printing needs.

The HP LaserJet 4730 multifunction printer is designed for large printing and document requirements in medium to large work groups and printing departments; the HP 4730 base model can be found for around $1,100.00.

The processor on the HP 4730 is clocked at 533 MHz and has a base memory of 256 MB which can be expanded to 512 MB. These devices have a 40 GB hard drive and duplex printing standard on all models all the while supporting UNIX, Linux, Mac, Windows and IBM operating systems which expands the number of businesses that can utilize them. To further expand their capabilities networking is standard along with USB and parallel ports while the copier can print up to 999 copies at any given time. Scanning color depth is rated at 30 bit and resolutions ring in at 600 by 600 dpi which is pretty average for this class of printers. Media handling is great at 1600 sheets of input supporting cards, labels, envelopes, plain and recycled paper as well as a by pass feeder for oddly sized media.

The processor and memory on the HP 4730 allow for fast 30 pages per minute print speeds and a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi. The HP REt Image enhancement technology helps to keep all of your documents consistent by compensating for discrepancies in paper, toner and color levels. A monthly duty cycle of 175,000 pages is more than ample for most heavy printing oriented work places and stapler and stacker finishers are available for an additional fee. Fax resolutions are decent at 300 by 300 dpi but does not support color faxes which is pretty standard for its class of printers. Prints, copies and faxes cost close to $.03 per monochrome document and slightly more for color beating out most of the competition. Gray scale images are presented in 256 shades and images are produced quite well; above average for its class.

The HP 4730 multifunction printer series has great support, average copy and fax features as well as lower cost per printed page and while set up is a bit more complicated than some it is well suited for a busy work group. Higher end models will set you back up to $5000.00 so make sure you get what you need.
