If you want a color laser printer, one unit to consider might be the Samsung CLP-620. Though it is quite heavy at 59.5 pounds, its 17.4×16.7×17 inch construction shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Unable to scan, copy or fax like many newer models on the market, the Samsung CLP-620 offers simple printing to small offices with a need of 65,000 pages or less. Compatible with Windows, Mac or Linux support, most offices will easily be supported, and connection is offered via ethernet or USB.

When it comes to speed, the machine isn’t the fastest on the market, but for most small offices its speeds of 21 pages per minute should suffice. It also has the ability to produce resolutions as high as 9600×600 dpi. If you need built-in networking, check out the Samsung CLP-620n.

Reviews from customers tend to rate the Samsung CLP-620 quite highly. They find the quality of printed documents to be excellent, and most love how easy setup and network installation are. Its fast speeds are praised often, and its hassle-free ease of use is applauded again and again. One of the highest rated functions of the machine, though, has to be its ability to produce wonderful looking graphics with sharp colors and tones. When it comes to complaints, though, there are a few, like the fact that it is a little larger and heavier than many other models on the market. Another complaint is that the price tag on the Samsung CLP-620 toner is just too expensive.

If that does seem to be a problem, you might want to try using remanufactured replacements from third party vendors instead of purchasing OEM toner cartridges. Though these will cost you much less than the OEM toner, that doesn’t mean they will exert less quality. Overall, the remanufactured Samsung CLP-620 toner cartridges will prove to be just as good as the original—if not better.

If you want a personal color laser printer, you might want to consider the Samsung CLP-500. With decent black-and-white speeds and a high quality resolution of documents outputted, it will make most home users quite happy. At 77 pounds, it is very heavy, meaning you won’t easily be able to lift it if needed. It’d also very easy to find space for with a size of 20.1×18.5×15.9 inches. It has a monthly duty cycle of 35,000 pages that will most likely be more than enough for the majority of home office users.

Its monochrome printing speeds are decent at 21 pages per minute, which should probably suffice for most personal users. However, its color speeds are very slow at 5 pages per minute—newer models easily surpass this with speeds up to 40 pages per minute. Even though it’s built for midlevel offices, it probably is a little weak. Its first page out times are a little slower than most too. It takes 14 seconds and 26 seconds for the first page to print out for black-and-white and color prints, respectively. The resolutions of 1200×1200 dpi will leave documents looking flawless, sharp and professional. For networking, seek the compatible model the Samsung CLP-500n.

There is a 150-page multipurpose tray that can hold a few different times of media, like envelopes, labels, cards and transparencies. Documents that are 3×6.3 inches in size are the smallest that are supported, while 8.5×14 inches is the largest paper size supported. The processor is a 360 MHz, and the maximum amount of RAM possible is 32 MB. Unfortunately, that cannot be upgraded, like it can with many other machines on the market.

In order to use this machine, you will need four toner cartridges full of cyan, black, magenta and yellow printer toner. The color consumables should last 5,000 pages, while the black toner cartridge will last 7,000 pages before expiring and needing replaced. While the toner is a little pricier than similar products on the market, remanufactured cartridges make this unit much more affordable.

With a size of 15.4×13.5×10.4 inches, the Samsung CLP-300 will be a great fit for personal users everywhere. This machine weighs only 30 pounds, so it is just as easy to move around as it is to fit nearly anywhere too. Its speeds, however, are only 16 pages per minute, so users who have a lot of prints at one time may want to consider a quicker option so they don’t find themselves sitting on the edge of their seat waiting for documents to print. Wired technology supported only, this machine connects via USB port. It can print in color or black-and-white

One thing the CLP-300 really has going for it is its resolution of 2400×600 dpi when printing. Its first page out time for black-and-white documents is only 14 seconds, while its first page out when using color is 26 seconds. Though it offers no automatic document feeder, it does have a 150-page multi-purpose tray.

Transparencies, labels, envelopes and cards can all be printed on this machine, and up to 24,200 sheets can be created each and every month. Though it comes standard with 32 MB of RAM, this cannot be upgraded at any time, which is a major drawback for those with expanding needs.

Consumer reviews are, overall, pretty positive. Users love how compact this machine is, and they find the Samsung CLP-300 toner to be both easy to replace and easy to purchase due to their lower-than-average price. Most find it to be a good bargain for the price, and many find that its speeds are good too. The only real complaint tends to be with the quality of color printed images. However, users find that black text prints flawlessly. Though there are a few things that could be improved on, for the most part, buyers can’t do much better than the Samsung CLP-300.

Samsung’s CLP-310 toner cartridges have a page-yield of up to 2,000 pages for monochrome prints, and up to 1,000 pages for each color cartridge. High-capacity cartridges are also available suitable for up to 6,000 pages for black toner, and up to 5,500 pages for the color cartridges. Standard Samsung CLP-300 toner cartridges have a cost-per-page rate of 2.8 cents per monochrome page, and 12.6 cents for full-color images. Other consumables also require replacement, besides toner for the CLP310. This includes the waste-toner collector, that must be replaced every 1,500 prints, as well as the drum cartridge after 13,000 prints.

Many Samsung CLP-310 toner cartridges are thoughtlessly disposed of, and are irresponsibly sent to garbage landfills. Recycling expired toner cartridges reduces the amount of unnecessary landfill waste, and promotes an Eco-friendly lifestyle. Toner for CLP-310 laser printers by Samsung can be recycled through a variety of companies with programs that accept them for free. Many companies even extend the offer, and pay for the postage to receive the empty cartridges. Recycled Samsung CLP-310 toner cartridges are refilled and refurbished by manufacturers, allowing the user to pay less for replacement toner.

A secondary alternative to disposing of used toner for CLP-310 laser printers by Samsung, is to refill them with fresh ink, using a custom toner refill kit. Utilizing a personal cartridge refill-kit, saves up to 70% on the printing costs, and reduces waste immensely. Refill toner for CLP-310 laser printers is inexpensive and has impressive high-yield capabilities, with potential to improve document quality. Refilling expired Samsung CLP-310 toner cartridges also helps reduce the user’s carbon footprint, and promotes an environmentally-safe solution to unnecessary waste.

The Samsung ML-1630 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the home or small office user. It has good print quality and fast speed at a very affordable price. It is limited by small capacities.

The Samsung ML-1630 has a very unique design for a laser printer. It is much flatter than most, with a flat black look instead of the typical beige or gray. The printer measures 4.8 inches by 13.1 inches by 14.8 inches (HWD) and weighs only 14.1 pounds. Its compact size makes it a very appealing choice for a home user, where space is often limited. Its input and output trays are all located on the front of the unit as well, allowing it to take up very little vertical space. In order to achieve its compact size, however, the ML-1630 has limited capacities. Its input paper capacity is only 100 sheets in a single tray, and the output tray can hold only 30 pages. Toner capacity is only 2,000 pages. These capacities will likely be enough for a single user who only does low-volume printing, but it limits its appeal for even a small office.

The printer connects by either USB or parallel port. It does not include an ethernet port, but networking the ML-1630 would be difficult with its limited capacities anyway. For just a little more money, competing products offer a few more features, such as networking and duplexing, and also have more capacity and better speeds.

Print quality is very good. Text is extremely sharp, and graphics quality is on par with its competition. The main strength of the ML-1630 is its affordable price and its sharp-looking design, but users will have to decide if its capacity is enough for the long run.

Overall, the Samsung ML-1630 offers good quality and speed in an attractive design. Its affordable price will be appealing to personal users on a budget, but even a very small office will probably need more capacity.

There are various consumables for the Samsung CLP-510, including the toner cartridges, imaging unit, waste toner container, and transfer belt. The imaging unit and transfer belt accommodate up to 12,500 pages, and the waste toner container is suitable for up to 3,000 pages. Replacement toner cartridges for the Samsung CLP-510 laser printer yield up to 3,000 pages for black toner, and up to 2,000 pages for each color cartridge. High capacity toner cartridges for the Samsung CLP-510 laser printer are also available, with an extensive page-yield of 7,000 pages for monochrome prints, and up to 5,000 pages per color cartridge.

Due to the growing consciousness of our need for an environmentally-friendly lifestyle, both users and manufacturers are beginning to take the appropriate steps to minimizing their non-biodegradable waste. Recycling Samsung CLP-510 toner cartridges, helps to make a meaningful impact on one’s overall carbon footprint. There are many ways to recycle toner cartridges for Samsung CLP-510 laser printers, and numerous companies offer exclusive programs for recycling printer consumables. Some manufacturers even offer to pay for the postage costs of sending the consumables to them. Recycled Samsung CLP-510 toner cartridges are refilled by many manufacturers, and sold at a lower cost, as refurbished toner.

Another effective action, for recycling Samsung CLP-510 toner cartridges, is to refill them with new ink. Refilling expired cartridges can save consumers up to 70% on printing costs, and is a cost-efficient way of achieving optimal quality and page-yield potential. There are a variety of refill kits that are compatible with Samsung CLP-510 toner cartridges, and most are inexpensive and user-friendly. With minimal refill-procedures, maintenance is effortlessly executed, and refill ink can be utilized multiple times after the initial purchase. Samsung CLP-510 toner cartridge refill kits also reduce the amount of unnecessary waste that is sent to landfills, and help prevent additional carbon emission from becoming a serious hazard.

Every home office in America has a desktop computer and a printer. A large percent of those printers are manufactured by Samsung. The Samsung SCX-4200 printer is one of the most commonly owned printers in homes today, and has proven to be the ultimate office work device. It is the most versatile multifunction device based around a mono laser engine, and is most desired where color output isn’t as important as low costs and speedy print.

Most multifunction printers are slow and take up much of your valuable time warming up for each job it must perform, but the SCX-4200 is incredibly fast with no unnecessary warm up times. The scanner has magnificent quality and in front of it is a simple but effective control panel conveniently designed with an LCD display and a row of buttons for optimal performance.

Toner in the SCX-4200 hardly ever needs to be replaced and costs less than all of the other laser printers in its class. There is direct access to the integrated drum through the easy to open front cover. Samsung provides a 1,000 page ‘starter’ cartridge upon purchase of the unit creating the possibility of immediate use. Print costs come out at about 2 cents per page, making the Samsung 4200 one of the most efficient laser mechanisms available.

Almost every printer in the same class as the SCX-4200 is weak in performance and has flawed print quality. Samsung assures that print output is of great quality with the SCX-4200 and this unique feature is what makes Samsung stick out them most in the crowd of low budget and low quality printers. The Samsung SCX-4200 is the ultimate low cost unit for all of your printing, scanning and copying tasks.

The Samsung CLX-3175FN is a color laser printer with multifunction features, designed for the personal user or small office. Its affordable price and full feature set make it a great fit for a variety of needs.

The CLX-3175FN features print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities. While its classification is mainly as a personal all-in-one device, the unit features an ethernet network connection, allowing it to be shared across a network of computers easily. In fact, many of its features can be used over the network. Scanning and faxing can be done remotely. It also supports scanning to email, which sends a scanned document directly to a computer and adds it as an attachment to a new email message automatically. There is also a USB port on the front of the machine, allowing users to connect a USB thumb drive and print directly from the drive, or scan directly to the drive, for the ultimate in simplicity. Despite the CLX-3175FN’s many network functions, the USB thumb drive may become the most common method for scanning, as it is the simplest.

The design of the CLX-3175FN is striking, especially its black exterior. In a world of boxy beige printer designs, it certainly stands out. Also striking is the compact size and weight of the unit, especially given its vast feature set. The printer measures 13.5 by 16.3 by 14.7 inches (HWD) and weighs only 33 pounds, making it smaller and lighter than many inkjet all-in-one machines. It features an automatic document feeder with a capacity of 15 sheets. Its input paper capacity is 150 sheets, and output capacity is 100 sheets.

Print speed is quite good, at 16 pages per minute monochrome and 4 pages per minute color. Print quality is excellent. Text is clear and sharp, and graphics quality is better than expected. Samsung color lasers tend to print graphics and photos better than many laser printers, and the CLX-3175FN is no exception.

Overall, the Samsung CLX-3175FN is an impressive multifunction device with good speed and quality. Its network functions make it more than a personal printer, and it has all the features that a small office will need.

The Samsung CLP-315 is a compact color laser printer designed for the home or small office user. At 9.6 by 15.3 by 12.3 inches (HWD) it is not much larger than a large inkjet printer, and given that color laser printers tend to be larger than monochrome laser printers, its compact size and relatively light weight of 24 pounds is an impressive design feat.

Setup is easy, simply removing packing materials, plugging in the power and USB cables, and installing the software from the disc. The printer supports Mac OS X and Linux as well as modern versions of Windows, so Mac and Linux users will not be left out in the cold.

Paper input capacity is somewhat small, with only a 150-sheet input tray, but for a personal or small office laser printer, this is not unexpected. Users wishing to share the CLP-315 across a network will need to analyze their printing needs to determine if they will be constantly replenishing paper. Personal users will likely find the paper capacity adequate.

Print speed is good for the price, at around 17 pages per minute black and 4 pages per minute color. Slower printing speeds are a cost-saving measure, as fast printing engines greatly increase the cost of production. Given the CLP-315’s very affordable price, this is probably a worthwhile tradeoff for most buyers. Speaking of price, it is worth noting that while the upfront cost of the printer is low, the cost of toner cartridges is somewhat higher than a typical laser printer, making the per-page costs higher as well. As a result, the total cost of ownership could conceivably be higher in the long run than more expensive printers. Buying toner cartridges from third-party resellers may offset this cost.

Overall, the Samsung CLP-315 is an extremely affordable color laser printer with a more compact design than would be expected. Small paper capacity and higher toner costs are downsides worth considering.

The Samsung CLP-600 color laser printer is an LED printer with small dimensions for crowded work areas; the printer is reasonably priced around $550.00.

Powered by an MIPS 350 MHZ processor and 32 MB of standard and maximum memory the CLP-600 delivers quality specifications for the money. Its paper handling, however, is a bit short only supporting cards, labels, envelopes, and plain paper up to 75 g/m2 weights. This is a small work group printer and the CLP-600n comes standard with USB and 10/100BaseTX connectivity which attributes to its low input capacity of 350 sheets; many other in class printers can handle higher input capacities. A 500 sheet cassette may be added for an additional charge. What the Samsung CLP-600 lacks in paper handling it makes up for in supported operating systems including Linux, SuSE Linux, Red Hat Linux, Mac, and Windows as well as Mandrake Linux. Despite its low weight and lower cost, there are very few expansion options; only a wireless print server and the fore mentioned paper cassette.

Printing at close to 20 pages per minute in full color and black and white the CLP-600 is comparable to its competition and has a 12 second first page out time. Color and text quality are quite good, but it should be noted that the CLP-600 will fall short on photo prints. Text is printed well in both color and monochrome down to 5 point font sizes. To monitor all of the printer’s functions and usage through a smart panel desktop utility and can be applied to any printer on the network. Monthly duty cycles rank in at 45,000 pages which should suit most small work groups and departments while the cost per printed page is close to $.10 in color and less than half that for black and white documents.

The Samsung CLP-600 is a good choice for those who do not need a variety of media to print on and is reasonably priced; similarly priced printers have some better features, but the Samsung delivers quality prints for its price.
