Very rarely, do we see printers that have a feature that is unusual. Most all-in-one printers can scan, copy, fax and print, but the Dell V515w Red has an extra feature that most printers don’t—the ability to save lives. Though you are probably wondering what exactly that means, we will get into that a little later. For now, let’s look at the standard features first.

This compact device, first and foremost, is very attractive with its shiny, black frame and unique design. Compatible with Windows and Linux, the V515 Red doesn’t offer any functions for Mac users, but what it does offer is wireless printing. It has a weight of 17.5 pounds, which for four units in one, is quite light weight. It also has a respectable size of only 19.2×13.4×8.0 inches that won’t take up too much room. Perfect for small or home offices, this unit will make users happy with its versatility—it can print on transparencies, plain paper, envelopes, labels, cards,/heavy-weight matte paper and glossy paper, among others.

This inkjet unit uses only two Dell V515w Red ink cartridges. Using black printer ink about 33 pages per minute can be printed, and with color Dell V515w red ink, 30 pages per minute can be printed. The copier with black and color printer ink can produce 25 copies per minute and 21 copies per minute, respectively. These speeds are quite fast, and the resolutions created by the Dell V515w Red ink are impressive as well.

The most impressive feature, however, lies in its Red title, as mentioned before. Though looking at this unit, it may just seem like it has red accents all over it, it is more than just a stylistic choice. When the Dell V515w Red is purchased, a portion of the money spent goes directly to The Global Fund, which works to eliminate AIDS in Africa—these Red accents work as a reminder that your simple donation helped save lives. Users and experts agree that this inkjet unit is a step above the rest.

Xerox is known for its plethora of affordable, high quality laser printers. The Xerox Phaser 7500 is no exception. Costing around $3,000, this color laser printer will work well in a small business. Weighing 145 pounds, it won’t be an easy unit to move around and might even need two people to do so, but it’s 22.2×26.2×20.9 inch size is respectable and won’t make too large of a footprint. It can also handle up to 150,000 pages per month with its high monthly duty cycle. The Xerox 7500 also has a maximum input paper capacity of 2,100 sheets and a maximum output capacity of 400 sheets.

For printing, four Xerox 7500 toner cartridges are needed. Black, cyan, magenta and yellow are the toners that offices will need to operate and print with this model. The Phaser 7500 toner is relatively inexpensive and is very easy to find in stores and online.

Using black or color Xerox 7500 toner, a first page output time of 7 seconds is possible, which is quite good for a laser printer. It can also create up to 35 pages per minute using color or black Phaser 7500 toner cartridges. The printer toner can even excel to high quality resolutions of 1200×1200 dpi. These resolutions will create elite looking documents that are free of grainy images or text.

User reviews for this unit are unanimously positive. Buyers love its ease of use and easy setup. Its fast speeds and fast operation are also praised time and time again. Users have agreed that printing photos and graphics couldn’t be a more successful because these documents print with such high quality and sharp colors. The only thing people tend to complain about is that replacement toner seems more expensive than it should be. However, remanufactured versions of the Xerox 7500 toner are available, making this unit a great buy for any small office.

For the highest quality photo prints possible, you probably think going to a professional lab is your best bet. For under $900, though, you can make professional looking photos at quick speeds in the comfort of your own home with the Canon Pixma Pro9500 Mark II. Does it seem a little expensive to you? Though it is a little pricey, this unit isn’t made for photo enthusiasts—this inkjet unit is the real deal and is made for professional photographers. It even uses 10 Canon Pro9500 Mark II ink cartridges—that’s a lot of printer ink for machine.

Weighing 32.4 pounds with dimensions of 26×13.9×7.6 inches, it’s hard to believe this unit has so much power. It can print on almost any photo paper and can even print borderless photos. Sizes such as 4×6 inches, 5×7 inches, 8×10 inches, letter, legal, 11×17 inches and 13×19 inches are all printable, and even the 13×19 inch size can print in under 8 minutes. It has an auto document feeder that can hold up to 150 sheets and PictBridge and USB connections. This inkjet unit is compatible with Mac or Windows operating systems, which means no matter what type of system you use, the Pro9500 Mark II has got you covered.

The ten Pixma Pro9500 Mark II ink cartridges needed for printing are cyan, magenta, yellow, photo cyan, photo magenta, green, red, photo black, matte black and gray. While the matte black Canon Pro9500 Mark II ink yields 530 pages, the rest yield an outstanding 930 pages. This will keep users printing as many photos as they want, and when one Pixma Pro9500 Mark II ink tank runs out, only that one needs to be replaced. The individual printer ink will also save buyers money print after print.

User reviews are all positive and complaints are hard to find. The high quality and fast speeds seem to be a general praise, and the low costing Canon Pro9500 Mark II ink only sweeten the deal!

Need a fast, reliable laser printer for your small to large sized business? Take a look at the Konica Minolta pagepro 5650EN. With a robust monthly duty cycle of 200,000 pages, this all in one won’t leave you scrabbling for more. Windows, Mac and Linux are all compatible with this pagepro, meaning that no matter the operating system of your company, this unit will adapt. It connects via ethernet, USB or parallel connection, and it has networking capabilities too. The only downside is its lack of color printing—this unit uses only black pagepro 5650EN toner.

Many inkjet printers aren’t as versatile as the 5650EN. It can print directly from many flash cards, and most paper sizes are supported—legal, letter, executive and folio are just a few of many that work perfectly with this device. Even banners can be printed. Many media types are supported as well, like plain paper, recycled paper, envelopes and postcards, and double sided printing comes standard. JPEG, TIFF and PDF files all have direct printing as well.

Only one Konica Minolta 5650EN toner cartridge is needed for printing with this unit. Each tank of printer toner lasts a surprising 6,000 prints, but the price tag on each of these toners is somewhat pricey. High capacity versions of the pagepro 5650EN toner cartridges are available as well, which means time in-between replacements will be a little more spread out.

Probably the most admired feature is the quick print speed of 45 pages per minute when using the black Konica Minolta 5650EN toner. Fast-paced environments will flourish with these speeds, and the 5650EN won’t slow you down. It prints with professional quality using Konica Minolta 5650EN toner with a resolution of up to 1200×1200 dpi. This will provide exceptional results and crisp text and graphic documents. Set up is easy with the 5650EN and use is even easier. When it comes to a sophisticated unit, the pagepro 5650EN rises above the rest of the competition.

The Canon Pixma MP810 is an all-in-one photo printer designed for photographers or photo enthusiasts who want to not only print excellent quality photos, but have the capability to scan and copy as well. The unit is extremely compact and is designed to be very easy to use, catering to buyers who would rather get the job done than spend a lot of time learning how to use the machine.

Not only can the scanner scan traditional documents and full-color photos, it even has the capability to scan 35mm film directly. This should be a welcome feature for those with a lot of film that needs to be archived. The benefit of this feature is that it also removes one layer of degradation to the photos, preserving the original quality is much as possible. The machine also support a variety of memory card formats and users can connect a DV camcorder or digital camera directly to the machine via its PictBridge-enable USB port, making it easy to print photos without the need for a computer.

Print speed is very fast, at up to 31 pages per minute for black and 24 pages per minute for color. Photo speeds will be a little slower, but a 4×6 borderless photo can print in as little as 21 seconds. This is certainly impressive for such an inexpensive model. It also prints other standard photo sizes, such as 5×7 and 8×10.

Print resolution far exceeds the norm at up to 2400 dpi for photo printing. Monochrome documents are limited to 600 dpi, however. The included software supports modern versions of Windows and Mac OS X. Mac users will be glad to know that Canon has a history of providing great software for both platforms, unlike some manufacturers who offer limited features on the Mac platform.

Buyers with a focus on photo printing will love the Canon Pixma MP810’s excellent feature set and design, which makes it easy to get files in and produce great finished photos.

Printers have improved dramatically through the years, offering more and more features in increasingly smaller sizes. However, many users would like the ability to do simple photo printing without the unnecessary hassle of using a computer. The Canon Selphy ES3 answers the call. It is a compact photo printer that offers quick and easy photo printing directly from a memory card, directly from a digital camera, or even via Bluetooth for the ultimate in ease-of-use.

The machine has a full-color 3.5” screen for previewing photos, and users can even do a certain amount of editing, such as red-eye reduction. It is possible to create small calendars, add frames to photos, and do other simple creative projects that make great gifts.

Print speed is around 55 seconds for a 4” x 6” photo. Up to 999 images can be stored in the machine with its built-in memory. The device is designed for simplicity and ease-of-use from start to finish. Even the most novice of users should have no problem quickly and easily creating excellent photo projects.

Design-wise, the Selphy ES3 has more in common with a trendy boombox than a photo printer, as it features a convenient handle on top for portability and an eye-catching rounded design that gives it a very modern look. The unit measures only 8.9 inches by 8.9 inches by 5.4 inches, so it can be easily placed virtually anywhere for easy storage and use.

With only two cartridges to replace, even buying Canon Selphy ES3 ink cartridges is a simple task. As the cartridges have a capacity of only 25 photos, expect to replace them often. Still, the cost per page is not particularly high, especially when considering the machine’s low upfront price.

For buyers who want the ability to make their own photo prints, but don’t want to have to use a computer for the task, the Canon Selphy ES3 could be just the model they are looking for. Its low price and easy operation will appeal to a wide range of users.

While many manufacturers cater to small office users with compact printers, Konica Minolta tends to focus on high-volume machines that can handle a large number of users. The Konica Minolta bizhub C200 is no exception. It is a color laser printer that has the fast speeds that a busy office needs along with the multifunction features that allow it to replace multiple pieces of equipment with one efficient and easy-to-maintain machine.

The Minolta C200 can print, scan, copy and fax. It is more compact than many of Konica’s high-volume machines, and it starts out a bit smaller on capacity, at only 250 sheets in its single tray. It offers a wide range of upgrade options, however, so buyers can tailor it to their specific needs. Memory can be expanded from the initial 576 MB to a maximum of 1,088 MB. Ethernet networking support is a standard feature. Printing resolution is 600 dpi for sharp print quality.

The scanning function is particularly well-designed, and gives users many options for destinations. Users can send scans to email, FTP or a location on the network. All of these options are easily accessed from the control panel for added convenience. Copying supports up to 999 copies at a time and reduction and enlargement from 25% to 400% in .1% increments.

Minolta C200 toner cartridges are very affordable. The large capacity of bizhub C200 toner cartridges also gives users a very low cost per page. Users can keep costs even lower by using third-party compatible Konica C200 toner instead of the more expensive OEM versions.

Its price is not cheap, but buyers who need an expandable printer that can support a high-volume office environment will likely find the Konica Minolta bizhub C200 to be an excellent value. The low cost of bizhub C200 toner will save money, and replacing multiple machines is a more efficient use of space and resources.

The Brother MFC-210C boasts one of the smallest footprints available in a multifunction inkjet printer. Its compact frame makes it an excellent choice for the home or small office, and it comes at a price that should fit even the smallest of budgets. The cost of Brother MFC-210C ink is a bit higher than competing models, however.

The machine measures a very compact 5.3 inches by 14.7 inches by 15.7 inches, and weighs only 12.1 pounds. For a multifunction with the ability to print, scan, copy and fax, this is almost unthinkable. Print speeds are very fast at up to 20 pages per minute for black and 15 pages per minute for color, and paper capacity is decent at 100 sheets.

The compact size of the machine and its low price do come with a few tradeoffs, however, but they are not major issues. First, faxing is limited to 14.4 kbps, unlike many models which offer 33.6 kbps transfer speeds. This will probably not make a difference for the user who does occasional faxing, but for sending faxes frequently, the loss in speed may become tiresome. The other major tradeoff is the lack of an automatic document feeder for copying, scanning and faxing. This means users will have to scan pages one at a time. Again, for light use, this is not a problem, but users who routinely scan multiple pages at a time may become frustrated.

Brother MFC-210C ink tends to be more expensive than competing models, which could add up over time. Thankfully, Brother MFC-210C ink cartridges have larger capacities than expected given the unit’s compact size. This means replacing ink less often and helps keep the cost per page lower.

The Brother MFC-210C may not be the best multifunction unit on the market, but for buyers who need an extremely compact model with many functions, it could be the perfect choice at a very low price.

One look at the Canon PIXMA iP100 color inkjet printer, and you might mistake it for a chunky netbook or some other device. Its ultra-compact frame and sleek silver design makes it nearly unrecognizable as a photo printer. Make no mistake, however, that this is an excellent machine designed for the ultimate portability.

Measuring only 2.4 inches by 12.7 inches by 7.2 inches, the PIXMA iP100 inkjet is small even by portable standards. It can easily fit into a medium-sized laptop bag or carry-on, making it ideal for travel. Despite its small size, it is capable of printing in all major photo sizes, up to 8×10 prints. Most users will probably print mainly borderless 4×6 prints, however.

With such a tiny machine, you might think that Canon sacrificed speed, but you would be wrong. It can print at up to 20 pages per minute for black and 14 pages per minute for color, making it faster than many desktop models. Setup is very simple. Just insert the driver disc, follow the onscreen prompts and connect the cable, and you are ready to go.

All of these benefits would be for nothing if printer ink was too expensive, and luckily Canon iP100 ink cartridges are very affordable. Since PIXMA iP100 ink cartridges are also easy to find, users don’t have to worry about finding replacement printer ink when traveling.

Users who reviewed the Canon PIXMA iP100 inkjet give it very high ratings. They mention its ease of use and its excellent portability. The main criticism against the unit is the lack of a USB cable in the box.

Travelers, photographers and others who need to print on the go will find a lot to like about the Canon PIXMA iP100. It is a compact and reliable machine that can follow you virtually anywhere and doesn’t sacrifice printing speed. With a low upfront price and affordable PIXMA iP100 ink, it is a great value.

The Okidata C330dn is an impressive color laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. It features excellent print quality in a fairly compact machine, but doesn’t sacrifice on paper capacity or expandability options. Toners are easy to find, and Oki C330dn toner costs are low.

The unit measures 9.5 inches by 16.1 inches by 19.8 inches, sporting a compact footprint, and weighs 48 pounds. It is not only a good fit for a small office, but one that plans on growing in the future, as it can be expanded with extra paper capacity. Initial paper capacity is 350 sheets, but an additional 530-sheet paper tray can be added, for a total of 880 sheets. Duplexing, or two-sided printing, is included as a standard feature and can really help reduce paper usage when enabled. The machine can be connected via USB 2.0 or the built-in ethernet networking port for quick and easy sharing among multiple users.

Oki C330dn toner cartridges have large capacities, and Okidata C330dn toner cartridges also tend to be less expensive than those of competing models. Combined, this results in a much lower cost per page that will save money on printer toner on an ongoing basis. For even more savings, the duplexing feature can be enabled as the default option, potentially reducing paper costs by 50%, making it a very economical choice.

Comparing the Okidata C330dn to other competing models, it fairs very well. Its upfront price is higher than some in its class, but the low cost of Okidata C330dn toner will eventually result in a lower cost of ownership than most after some time. The duplexing and networking features included as standard are also bonuses.

Overall, the Oki C330dn has a lot to offer a small office environment. It has the paper capacity and excellent features to keep up with a busy office and expandability for the future. It is certainly one of the best in its class.
