The HP Color LaserJet 1500 is another laser printer to meet the high standard set by this manufacturer over the years when it comes to producing high-quality equipment to be used in offices and homes.  The 1500 is more suited for a single user with occasional printing needs, such as a college student or an individual cubicle at a small company.  It is considered a desktop printer, meaning it is compact enough to comfortably fit on any table or desk top, as it measures only 19x18x15 inches.

When it comes to speed, this laser printer is not the fastest on the market, which is another reason it may be better as a personal unit.  It takes about 16 seconds for the first page to print out and then a maximum of 16 pages per minute can be printed using only the black HP 1500 toner and 4 pages per minute in full color.

There are four Color LaserJet 1500 toner cartridges holding cyan, magenta, yellow and black printer toner.  Each of these can yield thousands of pages and will last infrequent users a long time.  Replacements will be needed eventually though and they can be found from a number of vendors online, either as OEM or compatible versions.  As there are so many vendors vying for your business, the prices are competitive.

The maximum monthly amount of pages that can be printed to ensure optimal lifespan of the unit is 30,000.  Up to 250 sheets of paper can be held in the standard input tray, but an additional tray can be purchased separately to increase the paper capacity to 375 sheets of paper.  The maximum quality that can be created by the HP 1500 toner is 600×600 dpi, which should be good enough for scholastic and professional environments.
